Baby's First Christmas Layout

I love warm and cozy feel of this baby's first Christmas layout. For my title, I paired Creative Embellishments' Basic Alphabet, which I painted with chalk ink, with their beautiful Merry Christmas title, which did not alter.

End of an era

Lots of changes for the Thomases this week! This past weekend Nathan turned 3 (we celebrated it a week early). He is growing up so fast!

Nathan's birthday was also his last "dad day" with Jesse, who will be going back to work full time. They had a great day at the "dinosaur museum" -- I love these guys!

Last, but not least, we no longer have a kitchen! We just began our kitchen remodel and are in for quite a few weeks of eating out and washing dishes in our bathroom sink. I can't wait to show you the "after!"

In the whirlwind of life, it's comforting to remember that God never changes. Hopefully you had a great Easter!

CE April Challenge

I created this huge tag for Creative Embellishments' April challenge. I was inspired by the celebratory theme and I used the Mini Harlequin Panel as the base for this tag. I added elements from the It's a Boy Set to this tag and covered each piece with ink and glossy accents.

Nathan's Birthday Celebration!

We celebrated Nathan's third birthday this weekend with his Nana and Grandpa Butch.  We started the day off at the zoo, where the train, gibbons, carousel, and snow leopard stole the show.

After a long nap (rare these days), Nathan opened his presents -- he has so many cool new toys!

And we had cake! Nathan loved digging in!

He won't want to leave the house for the foreseeable future -- he has so many new toys to play with!

Merry Christmas Layout

The pictures in this layout are from Nathan's first Christmas.  I used the Christmas Bulb, Frame, and Holly Leaves for this layout, and cut the frame to use the embellishment on two corners of my layout.

I also created this Christmas layout using Carta Bella's Cabin Fever line and Creative Embellishments chipboard.  As you can see in these pictures, Nathan was so excited about it all, and I love capturing his sweet expressions!

I Don't Wanna Grow Up

The Toys R Us bankruptcy/liquidation/store closing news saddens me because I loved shopping there as a kid and I wanted that for Nathan. I took him there Monday as rumors were circulating, just to make sure he got to experience it one last time. And he was delighted for an hour straight -- look at this guy!

We don't need toy stores to have fun though -- last weekend Nathan had a complete blast splashing in puddles and helping water the new grass seed Jesse planted. Cutest little helper ever!

Hugs & Kisses Layout

The pictures in this layout are screen shots of some of my favorite Nathan videos. The Hugs & Kisses chipboard title is just perfect for this page. I primed the piece with gesso, painted it with yellow ink, and then added glossy accents.

Video Killed the Radio Star

It's been a while since I've posted a bunch of videos.  Nathan loves watching our home movies on our phones while he drinks his milk, and Jesse taught him to sing "video killed the radio star."  This first video is really silly -- Nathan literally slurping up noodles!

This one is a video of one of Jesse's silly stories.

And here is Nathan in action on the swings!

Guest Designer at A Cherry on Top

I am excited to share that I am A Cherry on Top's guest designer for March!  I created these three layouts using Carta Bella's Cabin Fever line, which I used to scrap Nathan's first Christmas!  You can see the announcement here.

Polaroid Layout

I have been wanting to use a number of polaroids as a design element for a long time. I used Creative Embellishments' Together Frame Set chipboard polaroid frames and the Wood Frame Set wood polaroid frames to design this layout. I added Chevron Pieces to complete the look.

I used a variety of ink colors and textures for this collage.
