Baby's First Stitches
Merida came to visit us last weekend, and we enjoyed spending time with her. Nathan literally had her running and jumping up and down chasing the light from his flashlight!
Unfortunately, the fun and games came to an abrupt halt when Nathan fell on the playground and split his lip. We had to take him to the ER where he got three stitches to go with the big scratch on his cheek! Most kids in our ER get one stuffed animal to make them feel better. The doctor remarked that Nathan must be really cute because people kept on bringing him more stuffed animals and he ended up with three!
Our brave little boy didn't let his "ouch" keep him down for long. He is running around and really enjoys playing frisbee with us!

Tummy Time Layout
Today I am here to share a layout of Nathan at four months. I love how Creative Embellishments chipboard can compliment and elevate any type of layout. I used four different chipboard pieces to add just the right finishing touches on this layout.
I used the block trio from the It's a Boy Set. I painted the blocks with two coats of white gesso, and then used a green marker to color the alphabet and border accents. I also used this same treatment for the Stars chipboard pieces and the Arrow Banners.
Finally, I used Creative Embellishments Basic Alphabet chipboard to make my title. I layered two different colors of blue ink to get just the right color for this page.

Grandpa Thomas
Grandpa Thomas came to visit this week and brought with him a big boy bike for Nathan. He will have to grow into it, but he was thrilled to be pushed around on it!
Grandpa Thomas also took Nathan to swim class. Nathan has gotten to be quite a good swimmer for being such a little guy.
The four of us went to the zoo as well, and had a blast. Nathan wanted to see as many animals as possible, and the highlight of this particular trip was the train ride we took around the Africa portion of the zoo.

Smile Layout
I have been wanting to do a layout with a giant title for a while now, and I decided Creative Embellishments' Smile chipboard set was perfect for this darling baby Nathan layout.
I primed the chipboard title with gesso, and then used baby blue chalk ink to bring out the blue in the patterned paper.

Back to School & Other Transitions
Nathan started a new school year a couple weeks ago. He moved up to a different classroom, but kept his same teachers so the transition was pretty smooth. We love this little guy to pieces!
Another (bigger) change is that we are moving! We are under contract to buy a house and sell ours -- it's been an adventure so far and we can't wait to tell you more.

CE September Challenge
I was inspired by some of the diagonal elements in this month's Creative Embellishments challenge picture to angle the elements on my page.
I was also encouraged to go outside of my typical comfort zone by stamping on the background of my page. I found a great subtle background stamp -- the Distressed Grid stamp -- and inked it with grey chalk ink to add a little interest in the background of my page.
