Marathon Pace Training Run by jessedavidthomas at Garmin Connect - Details

I had an excellent run this day, finally being able to hold my desired marathon pace. It may have been the lower temperatures in the evening from the sun going down earlier. Now I just have to do this 3 times back-to-back-to-back, with a couple extra miles thrown in, in December.

Sunday Run by jessedavidthomas at Garmin Connect - Details

This was a very nice run with Dan and Dave late in the evening. The sun is going down much earlier now, so running later in the evening gives very nice temperatures. We kept a pretty good pace too.

Walk (Run) for Life by jessedavidthomas at Garmin Connect - Details

This was the Walk for Life event, which a few of us jogged for fun.

5K Pace Training Run by jessedavidthomas at Garmin Connect - Details

I tried to run 2 out of 4 miles at my hoped for 5K pace but couldn't do it. The 8:09 4th mile was me dying a slow painful death. Maybe the heat or the elevation change got to me.

Have you seen the beautiful sketch that is up on The (paper) Trail Makers Challenge Blog?

I loved working with this sketch because it allowed me to incorporate multiple pictures and keep the focus on them. Since I typically design two-page layouts, I stretched the sketch to suit my needs. For this layout I jumped into the gorgeous Cappella collection again and used the Falsetto 12x12 Double Sided Paper as my background. (A tip for 2-page layout girls: buy 2 of the papers that you want to use as your background). I also incorporated the beautiful Cream Pearl and Rhinestone Stick Pin by Jenni Bowlin into my embellishment cluster.

You have until Saturday to link up your layouts here http://www.trailmakers.blogspot.com/ so start scrapping!

The Hamburgers and I went for a run, including the poca hamburguesa. In case you're wondering, he's our excuse for the 12 min fourth mile.

5K pace training run by jessedavidthomas at Garmin Connect - Details

I was trying to hold a 7 minute/mile pace every other mile on this run. My goal is to break 22 minutes in a 5K before December, and if I could run my fast miles back-to-back-to-back (which is doubtful given that I took so much rest here) and finish the last 0.1 miles at 7 min/mi, I would be at 22' 3''. You think I'll make it?

Recovery Run by jessedavidthomas at Garmin Connect - Details

A supposed "recovery run" after my first run over 5 miles this year. It was much harder than it should have been.

TrailMakers Circle Challenge Layout

If you don't already know, The (paper) Trail Makers Challenge Blog is challenging you to add circles to your layout. This is my design team submission for the challenge, featuring the store's gorgeous Cappella collection.

One technique that I used in this layout was to highlight the circles in the Cappella pattered papper by placing Kaisercraft pearls over them.

My Recipe Challenge Layout

Hi there! I wanted to share with you my layout created for The (paper) Trail Makers Challenge Blog's recipe challenge.

I used the following items from the recipe challenge:
R=Ribbon
A=Alphabet
I=Ink
S=Stitching

I primarily used Fancy Pants' Rusted Sun Collection in this layout, and I also added the beautiful LYB Clothesline die cut paper, both of which you can find at the Trail Makers Store.

One technique that I used in this layout is fussy cutting. I decided to cut out the beautiful tropical flowers and leaves from Fancy Pants Designs' Laguna Beach paper and use them as embellishments. I hand cut the flowers, inked the edges, shaped the petals and leaves to make them rounded instead of flat, and then adheared them to the layout with pop dots to give them dimension.

Don't forget that there is still time for you to enter your layout for this challenge! Details are at http://trailmakers.blogspot.com/.
