Stomach Bug

We have had a rough week.  Poor Nathan came down with a stomach bug, and it took him a full week to truly recover.  Both Jesse and I took extra time off this week to help the baby get the rest and love he needed.  Look at him just passed out on the couch -- as Jesse said, he hasn't slept on the couch since he was a tiny infant!

Yesterday Nathan was feeling well enough to kick balls around the handball court with Jesse.  Here's hoping this was the last big bug for a while!

February Layouts

I have loved using Simple Stories' Hello Baby line to document Nathan's birth and first few months. These next few layouts are the final ones I created with this line.  This first layout is of Grandpa Thomas' first visit to see Nathan, and I created it for Creative Embellishments' January challenge.  I used background paper with the "love you to the moon" title and crackle paint on the starts that I stitched hanging from the cloud.

I was inspired by CSI's case file 224 for this next layout.  I used the colors, clouds, animals, and die cuts, and I used mixed lettering for my rubon and element sticker journaling.

I also started using a new scrapbooking line -- Empire Bebe.  I love the giraffes!  I was inspired by Stuck?! Sketches' February 15 sketch for this layout of my mom and Jeff's first visit to see Nathan.

I was able to create a number of layouts this month, primarily because I put together some quick but cute project life inspired layouts.  Enjoy!

At the zoo

The weather has been so lovely this week that we decided to take an impromptu trip to the zoo this morning.  We haven't been to the zoo since last summer, and Nathan enjoys it a lot more now that he is older.

Nathan loved everything, I think, but my personal favorite was this adorable elephant family!

It's February Already

This year seems to just fly by!  Nathan is learning tons of new words (and colors and letters), and he is getting in his second set of molars!  Last week Nathan helped me to make some banana bread (he really loved the banana bread that we had at Nicole's), and take a good look at that hair because he got a long-overdue haircut.

Ta da!  His hair is much shorter now.  I needed to take this picture of Nathan and his lovies (his lion and bear) because he has started sleeping with them and loves to hold one in each arm.

We have had a mix of warmer and colder weather, and have been enjoying some time outside.  Nathan is just bursting with energy!
